Lessons about the UDHR
Peace Education Initiative Rwanda trained youth club members affiliated to the organization about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) where the 30 articles are highlighted. Peacedu gravitates around some key principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Some of the principles include the following:
ARTICLE 2: Freedom from Discrimination and Article 26: Right to Education.
The objectives of the training were to equip the youth with the knowledge about the past and prepare them with essential tools to eradicate any sort of division, hate, and violence in their schools and communities. The youth from the Eastern Province, Kayonza District, Rukara Sector, were able to get a deeper understanding of the 30 articles enclosed in the UDHR and relate to it in their everyday life. The youth are now aware of their contribution in building sustainable peace and preventing human rights abuse.
